gordon’s beach
long stretches of perfect, gatorade blue water
| GETTING THERE |
soft, powdery sand + blue hues
Gordon’s beach is the southern-most tip of the island, you will know when you’ve arrived because the road literally comes to a stop! On the right, you’ll see the little pathway and you will immediately recognize that familiar perfect blue💙 As of March 2021, Gordon’s Beach Bar & Grill opened up, so you should also see a bright little pink house to the left of the beach entrances! There are some very cute picnic tables at this beach that makes it super convenient to have some shade and leave your things rather than on the sand!
| OUR REVIEW |
perfect for a beachside stroll
Gordon’s is the most similar beach to Cape Santa Maria just not as shallow but just as blue & crystal This another great choice to spend the entire day lounging a stunning beach with miles of sand. The ultimate advantage to this beach is some convenience! The beach bar & grill means you don’t have to come prepped with drinks/snacks - you can get Earnest’s conch fritters (our favorites on the island 🤤) and a variety of liquors to get you that Caribbean buzz. The owner is a Long Island legend that goes by “Pitbull”, and grew up just across the street. He makes for some great company and while at his bar, we met some wonderful people over drinks! This beach also seemed like a spot people come to for water sports - a group of Kite Boarders were here on the day we came as well as some sailors!
The picnic tables have big umbrellas and seating which provides you some shade to escape the blazing sun (even I needed this after 3 days in the bahamas 😅) and there are BATHROOMS! Bathrooms at any beach outside the US are a big luxury so enjoy this one.
Overall, another 10/10 beach - it meets all perfect beach criteria just more of a trek to get down all the way south. Make sure you plan to leave accordingly either around the time of sunset or blue hour because it will be a bit of a long ride back to your lodging and its not very fun to blindly drive through potholes in the dark!
